The task in this project was to choose a concept/product and to make it realistic with special emphasis on production. I chose to further develop a concept that I made in the subject of product development, form and concept at NTNU Gjøvik. This was a task where we were to develop a new product or improve an existing product within kitchen equipment. This product should be able to fit into the product portfolio of a fictional business, where I chose the Italian company SMEG.
My first priority has been to adapt the main body to SMEG's existing Aluminum production method (Die casting). Some of the other changes I have done:
- Completed the main mechanical solutions
- Improve joining of glas container/lid and glas container/main body
- Lower weight (Before: 15 kg, now: 10 kg)
- Added rubber feets (NBR)
- Customized rubber sealing in glas container
- 3-part lid. 
- Modeled die-casting mold for main body (using parasolid)
